A magia das fotografias

Adoro fotografias. Mesmo as que ficam desenquadradas ou desfocadas. 
Registar e congelar emoções num pedaço de papel faz-me sentir que posso voltar a esse momento de uma forma muito mais visual. Ajuda-me a fechar os olhos e viajar até lá. Voltar a ouvir os sons e as conversas, cheirar e sentir aquele momento novamente. Ainda que distante.

Para mim fazem de uma casa um lar. É uma das primeiras coisas que involuntariamente reparo quando visito a casa de alguém e adoro oferecer fotografias. Acho que é uma recordação digna de uma verdadeira amizade!
Tenho muitas espalhadas pela casa, em molduras, em álbuns, no disco rígido que vemos muitas vezes na televisão.
Talvez por isso as minhas filhas também gostam tanto e desde sempre que respeitam e tratam com cuidado estes pedaços da nossa história. Gostam de identificar quem está, onde foi e desenrolar uma história à volta de algumas fotos.

Já não adoro tanto ser fotografada. Comecei a gerir melhor esta dualidade quando as miúdas nasceram e as sessões fotográficas acabaram por ser uma forma de registar o crescimento das miúdas (e os pais aparecerem nas fotos sem estarem a correr para a câmara após carregarem no botão de disparo!)
Para mim o ideal era o resultado de uma sessão fotográfica sem o próprio do fotógrafo.
Alguém que não dite ordens para obter a foto ideal mas que tenha a habilidade de captar o momento perfeito, sem ser intrusivo, sem se fazer sentir e deixar rolar de forma natural. Para mim essas são as melhores fotografias, as que deixam memórias de um dia bem passado.

E foi por isso que aceitei o desafio da Sandra, da Feelings 4 Ever, pela promessa de captar momentos verdadeiramente felizes! Foi mesmo antes de regressarmos a Inglaterra, num dia em que as nuvens deram espaço ao sol ameno, que nos encontramos com a Sandra na praia da Torre, em Carcavelos.
Duas horas que passaram a voar enquanto eu e a minha mãe brincávamos com as miúdas na areia, como fazemos em qualquer ida à praia.
A Sandra nem se fez notar. Deixou tudo fluir como se não estivesse lá e fez a sua magia - Guardou para sempre estes momentos felizes e sobretudo verdadeiros!

I love photos. Even those that become fuzzy or unfocused.
Registering and freezing emotions on a piece of paper makes me feel that I can go back to that moment in a much more visual way. It help´s me close my eyes and travel to that moment. Re-listen to the sounds and the conversations, smell and feel that moment again. Although far away.

For me, they make a house into a home. It's one of the first things I unwittingly notice when I visit someone's house and I love to give away photographs. I think it's a memory worthy of true friendship!
I have many scattered around the house, in frames, in albums, on the hard disk that we see many times on television.
Maybe that's why my daughters also like it so much and have always respected and treated these pieces of our history with care. They like to identify who they are, where they went and tell a story about some photos.


But I do not love being photographed. I started to manage this duality when girls were born and photo shoots turned out to be a way of recording their growth (and mom and dad get to appear in the photos without running into the camera after pressing the shutter button!)
For me, the ideal would be the result of a photo shoot without the photographer.
Someone who does not dictate orders to get the ideal shot but who has the ability to capture the perfect moment without being intrusive and let it flow naturally. For me, these are the best photographs, the ones that leave memories of a day well spent.

And that's why I accepted Sandra´s challenge, from Feelings 4 Ever, for the promise of capturing truly happy moments!
It was just before we returned to the UK, on a day when the clouds gave way to the mild sun, that we met with Sandra on the beach, in Carcavelos.
Two hours that flew, while my mother and I played with the girls in the sand, as we do on any other day on the beach.

We forgot about Sandra´s presence most of the times. She let everything flow as if she was not there and did her magic - keeping these happy and above all, true moments forever!
